I think "Neptune" was copyright to something else or something, so they decided to go the safer route and tweak it a bit. Or... something. "Neptunia" is kind of fun to say, though, so I actually like the english name.


If the game had been titled something like "Nep Edge", though, I would have strongly supported keeping it exactly the same. XP

Considering the word's origins as a blasphemous curse, I'm not surprised it gets mentioned.

Although, having said that, only one game has been rated for blasphemy by the ESRB.

It's the Binding of Isaac if you must know, and seeing what it's about, I cant say I'm surprised.
Although the idea that they made up a category specifically for it is certainly amusing.

Yes, "Neptune" was copyrighted and dwells in territory too risky for NISA to tread on. "Neptunia" is a word used in the Japanese version's platinum trophy and where the series' US name originated from.

Oh, just done a fact-check, seems it's rated for blasphemy in Germany (of all places), and is therefore a 16+.
I'm left wondering why they ignored the rest of the content considering their usual views though...

No, unless gamestop (etc..) makes their own limited edition then i doubt it. NISA is making their limited editions exclusive now so until they stop you'll only get it from them.
