I just looked at a trailer and I seriously want this so bad. This game looks beyond amazing.

If Namco actually did something cool and release this, my entire house would be flooded with a certain body fluid.
Spoiler:
Tears of joy, that is.

I can't help but look at romance in video games and wince anymore. Here's hoping Imageepoch can change that, but given their track record, I won't hold my breath.

Haha, wat?

@Tenshi: I agree. I have yet to play a game that does romance 'correctly'.

I think visual novels get the closest. But even then it's often childish or catering to a particular group. Then there are the simulators, but those are generally pretty unimpressive with respect to narrative.

I'm sure there are games out there that tackle the issue admirably: I just haven't played them.

Ack, I wasn't including visual novels when I said that. There are some particular good ones when it comes to the romance genre.

I don't know anymore. I've played so many games, and have been on the look out for ones that deal with romance well, and I have yet to hear or play one that does so.

Just date someone in real life. That's the closest you'll get to a "realistic", "correct" romance. Honestly, there's always going to be something unrealistic/idealistic about a romance in fiction, especially one in a fantasy setting.

It's not really an issue of realism so much as it's an issue of things either being nearly non-existent or utterly full-blown madness. Extremes, and all. I like the fantasies observed in visual novels, wherein the characters typically represent archetypes. And I'll surrender that I did perhaps give visual novels too little credit.

What Tenshi said. A romance being "realistic" or idealistic does not bother me in the slightest. It is as you said; a romance will always have something unrealistic or idealistic about it in a work of fiction with a fantasy theme. And I'm very much so fine with that.

http://andriasang.com/con0jj/tokitowa_sketch/

A sketch of Toki. 'tis yummy.

Annd screenshots: http://andriasang.com/con0ip/tokitowa_screens/

Yay, psuedo nudity <3

The screens also include what appears to be a key event scene, with the main character passed out on the floor at his wedding and Princess Toki, his bride, calling out some sort of spell in reaction to this.

Princess Toki somehow ends up being sucked into another dimension. Fortunately, she loses her clothes in the process.

Yeah, that's what I thought. How strange of the devs to call the blue haired prince the MC, though. It sounds, and seems like Toki is the protagonist. Hm..
