Type: TV
Episodes:
Producers: Bones
Genres: Action, Adventure, Drama, Mecha, Sci-Fi

The story is set on Okinawa's isolated island of Iwado, which has seen a growing movement advocating a return to an autonomous government. Ao Fukai, a 13-year-old boy with a missing father, lives on the island with an old doctor named Toshio and is about to enter middle school. Ao's mother was taken away a decade ago by unknown individuals. Naru Arata, Ao's 13-year-old childhood friend and the story's heroine, lives with her father, older sister, and grandmother. She has a "Yuta" power awakened within her due to an incident when she was young.

A mysterious entity called "Secret" suddenly appears and launches an attack on the Scub Coral lifeform on the island. Ao launches a certain military FP called "Nirvash" aboard a Japanese military transport in his fervent desire to protect the island.

Eureka Seven... one of my favorite series. I hope this one doesn't let me down, and I'm so glad they didn't CG the mechas... so... glad.

The story sounds too similar to the last one.

Either way I will watch it.

Was pleasantly surprised with the first episode.

I thought it would lack that Eureka feeling, if that makes any sense.

Ao is >>>>>> Renton. I'm mostly curious now if this show is directly related to the original, or if it's an alternate world thing. The fact that it's on contemporary Earth leads me to believe it's an alternate history/dimension (or perhaps even a prequel?).

I was hoping the "Ao" stood for "Adults Only".

Man, it would be better if Ao didn't look like a genderbent Eureka. Sheesh, Japan really plays on the trap thing.

Not sure if confirmed yet but
Spoiler:
I'm pretty sure everyone's already gone through the assumption that Ao is Eureka's son, so facial similarities are expected if he is..

Anyways, Ep2 is out with the opening. Yay.

EP 2 Was Excellent. The Initial battle was truly like the original, with the IFO Lifting across the trapar waves~

Spoiler:
I wonder if the Mark I is capable of evolving like the Nirvash Type-0
And by the looks of it, Doctor Fukai was there during the Nirvash's glory days.

I'm so glad Ao's personality is so much stronger than Renton's was.

All I really remember of Renton was him going incredibly emo and depressed over every single thing that happened to him. I haven't seen someone like that since Shinji Ikari...

I recall Renton manning up after a certain point. I think it was after certain two died.

His voice sure didn't help. At least his English voice, anyway.

True. He was a bit better in the last few episodes, but for most of the series... Ugh. I watched it through once, but I ain't doing that twice.
