Remastered DVDs? - Question For Admin/Executive.

Postby Sorukai » Sat Jul 17, 2010 3:54 am

I died at the news that my all time favourite anime series, ToraDora, was getting a North American release, from a new company by the name of NIS America. This made me just a tad bit sad, because I figured there would be no dub. (Sorry! Was hoping Funi would grab it, but now I am a fan of NISA) (And there isn't a dub? ^^;;;) Now that Season 1 or whatever is released, I'm EXTREMELY interested in buying it. But I saw the announcement about shoddy video quality, and am now very hesitant to buying it.

Do the NEW ones being sold in your Online store contain the remastered DVD's?

I reallllllly would like a Premium edition, but that video quality worries me. I'm 100% sure the remastered will be better, and will buy it, but I saw Premium has limited quanitites, and it will seriously kill me not to get the Premium.

And do you ship to Canada...?

Admin/Executive, can you answer this please?

I'm not affiliated with NISA, just a normal user... However, I advise that if you want the Premium Edition contents, order it... like NOW, before they run out. When you receive it in the mail from the store, you can then go to the exchange page and you can do a disc swap (which I think they're still proofing and mastering). That's what I did. I've included the links to expedite this.

Swap Request Form

Good luck.

Sigh, well then I have to wait twice as long for the replacement discs, living in Canada should make my wait even longer too. ;( I'll get right on that anyways. I'll ask my Dad tonight... (One more year till I can get my own Credit Card lmao.)

Edit, ZOMFG 12.41$ for SHIPPING???!?! -.-'''''
Edit #2, Success! Ordering when dad gets home in a couple of hours. ^^

Replacement discs are free of charge/shipping, right? :P
If so, consider me a lifetime customer!

are they paying for the shipping where you have to send your copies back or do you keep the copies and they just send you new ones?

If I had to guess, probably a netflix type of thing... Haven't seen details on that though.

Since they're asking for information that would seemingly verify your order, it sounds like they're just going to ship you the new discs. Otherwise, I wouldn't think they'd need to collect any information at all. You'd just send your discs in with a return address and they'd simply ship the new discs back.

You will not regret getting the premium edition. Trust me. ^_^ Yes, you'll have to swap the disks later...if you even notice any problems. For me, I don't notice any problems at all. It think it depends on if you have HD tv's and whatnot. I don't have an HD monitor or a bl-ray for my regular TV. So, on my screen the quality is equal to watching Hulu or any of my other animated DVDs.

The shipping may seem high, but NISA/RosenQueen ship in a pretty large box, because of the free poster and when you get your premium edition...you'll understand how large it is. lol If you're expecting a regular sized DVD case...you'll be very happily surprised like I was. Holding everything in my hands...I understood why the shipping is higher...and reasonable.

If you love Toradora! as much as I do....the positives NISA did with this far outweigh any negatives. If they offer a dub in the future...I'll step over my friends to get it. I now just really wish they would bring over the Toradora Portable! PSP game as well. If the Japanese LE's go for $400+ brand new online...I trust NISA would put out such a quality package they could charge around $200usd and still sell them out.

PS: To clarify; I do not work for NIS and am not affiliated with NIS...I'm just a NISA Fan Boy...since they handled this whole thing, from start to finish, in a manner that makes me feel like they're treating me like family. ^_^

I completely agree with Louis. The premium edition was done really well. A fan can definitely display it next to a Haruhi or Lucky Star box set with pride. And then for them to perform the remaster and replacement free of charge and so quickly is both great and classy.

I am really looking forward to Volume 2.

I can say that whoever ordered the new stock of Vol 1 premium Edition, gets the remastered discs. It has no problems at all playing on my PS3 or computer. So, if you order it now, you will get the fixed DVD's.

Well not everyone had issues with the initial run of discs, so you may have gotten lucky. Either way, glad you don't seem to have issues.

I had problems with my dvd's but love the box art work and the book that came with it. The play back on a normal tv was really bad with the stutter in places. I own a lot of anime from places like Viz and Funimation. This of course did not stop me from ordering the second release of this anime! also i await the replacements as we speak. I will up date when i get them in the mail and let you all know!

Here's hope that the second release is fine!
