I would have said something else hadn't this been the case. By the time I sent out the 5th PM I noticed I used red twice when I meant to use green. So I decided why not make it all random. I didn't think it'd actually become a sort of issue.

There is nothing wrong with what you did; however, any break from the established patterns of previous gms would classify as an issue, which by its very peculiarity would attract the attention of an individual such as myself.
