Hours had past since the mysterious man had cut off contact, and it was once again time as decreed by the alarm blaring through the complex that it was time to put someone up to the chopping block.
The debate on who to eternally dismiss start off slow in the morning, and picked up steam like one of those old locomotives. The debate had just finished it's climax not long before the alarm had sounded.
The mash up of characters gathered in the now familiar sleek meeting room. It wasn't long till the voice of the man was once again heard through the room.
"Good evening my terrible comrades. I'll cut to the chase. As per the recommendation of the many of my colleagues here, have the sum of you come to a decision on whom to axe tonight?"
A pale, weightless man stepped up to answer the mans question. He spoke in a deep Romanian accent of sorts.
"Very much like the previous night, the lot of us experienced hardships in coming to a consensus. To some obvious displeasure to the most of us, a small majority have decreed that woman calling herself "vampko" was deemed to be divided amongst us in beliefs."
The pale man, finished with his speech, seemingly floated back to his previous position, his foot steps leaving no sound.
"I see. It is never easy to decide the fate of others. Enough of such jibber jabber, on with the show!"
Much like last nights victim, "vampko" was covered in a bright light, in the same manner the screen had made its appearance again. Though its no longer had the awe to it that some of the persons had, it was still a curious contraption.
On the screen appeared a startled vampko in a white room. Much like last nights proceeding the Man made a small speech announcing the scan that took place in mere seconds.
"It appears you've likened yourself to cat in both mannerisms and clothing choices. Analysis also shows you to be a part time petty thief and part time vigilante stopping others of the same offense. It appears we might have just snuffed out our first defender of justice."
The man let out an evil chuckle.
"Lets test the theory of cats having nine lives shall we? The experiment will be to see if you can survive being turned into "canned catfish" supplemented by the ocean's extreme water pressure. Though we haven't installed depth sensors, I can assure you we're deep enough for the experiment to be... practical."
The screen blinked out for a second, coming back on to show 2 different videos. One of vampko inside a human sized metal barrel, the other of an outside view onto the ocean floor focusing on the large and empty oil barrel. It didn't take long for dents to start popping like popcorn in the barrel, the pressure just way to much for its frame to bare. All the while vampko could be seen in the fetal position shaking in fear.
It was less then a minute when the video inside the barrel had stopped, the camera inside the crumpling "can" unable to bare the intense pressure no longer. The barrel shown in the other video had shrunken to about half its size. The group in the meeting room grinned with malice, though one should note they spared the horror of having to hear the scarred screams of the patron inside the wad of metal.
It only took a little under 2 minutes, the barrel could crumple no more. All that was left was compressed iron and a cloud of human remains polluting the dark ocean floor. The creepy locals of the dark waters slowly came out to feast of the remains of vampko.
"I guess cats having nine lives was merely exaggerated superstition. Though we managed to single out one costumed crusader, my secretary informs there are still a few among you. I hope tomorrows activities will bring about a successful hunt once again. And with that, good night. Glory in Evil my Terrible Comrades."
With that the meeting room was emptied, its contents doing whatever they wished to do during the night. Assuming it was night anyways.
