The Official Name the references you spot Thread

Didn't see one of these yet so I Thought id make one this is basically about naming all the hidden references or not so hidden ones you catch throughout the game.


heres a few i did.

1. Linda referencing Power thirst during her running away from the girls in one of the scenes based off the viral video on youtube.

2. Horsebird is a play on a chocobo

3. Piranha plants, those pipe things based off mario

4. the invaders are obviously a reference to space invaders this was a obvious one but still

5. Terits terist ect are a scramble of words off tetris and are meant to be those blocks.

6. kupo kitty kupocat are a reference to moogles from the final fantasy series obvious one again.

7. moulin rouge one of the flowers is a reference to moulan rouge a movie and song.

8. im pretty sure those fx professor guys are a reference to brain age.

9. dogoos a reference to the original dragon quest slimes? i mean I know slimes are in like every rpg now but still.

10. when Neptune levels up somtimes she hums the tune to final fantasy victory.

11. cave is a full on reference on touhou/bullet hell not much else to say.

12. falcom is a generic rpg hero stereotype. I think

theres tons more but I got this started. post any references subtle or not you caught.

To be precise, to a misspelling of Chocobo that happened in Final Fantasy XIV.

11. cave is a full on reference on touhou/bullet hell not much else to say.

Actually it's the personification of Cave, a software house specialized in bullet hell shoot'em ups.

Falcom is the personification of Falcom, famous for its action RPGs, the Ys series and the story-heavy Eyuu Densetsu (Legend of Heroes) series.

honestly i was talking about MK2 but I guess its ok.

I loved the first games quirkyness to just not the gameplay ugh.

i agree but gameplay does make you wanna play it. The first game the only reason I kept playing was the story and funny ass dialogue. if it weren't for that i would of never played the game again. lol. at least in mk2 the gameplay is actually fun as well as the story and diologue.

just found a couple of new ones rofl can't believe i missed these my first time through.

its a level D optional quest called About spoilers its a reference to the game Catherine lol. pushing and pulling blocks in his dream just Like catherine lol.

anannymouse Conspiracy its a level E sidequest its a reference to the hacker group anonymous on the internet honestly can't believe I missed that one either.

Mario, Solid Snake's Box (When you have 85% of Lastation captial shares, you see a box that looks like snake's)

Pokemon, Star Wars, etc. etc. (Most of the enemies were already pointed out and obvious)
