If you didn't know japanese, would it have made a difference either way?

Yes. Because if I see "Shu Shu", it's pretty obvious how it's pronounced. Chou-Chou is just misleading, especially in English.

Shu Shu?

Shut up
Shu Shu

not seeing how this is working out >.>

You're too exposed to japanese to realize how the name can be twisted into something that sounds really dumb, but you can bet people would think as much.

Don't make it sound dumb then! Make it sound like Shu Shu and be spelled like Shu Shu.

There may even be more reasons behind the name. Have you taken into account that?

No. i prefer not to factor in the "unknown". It hardly pays off.

I was thinking how the name may be related to the story/areas.

either way, it's what NISA and CH both chose, so it doesn't really matter what you feel is better.

Most of us have already determined our favorite characters based off of appearance alone, and we don't have any new info on a dub, gameplay mechanics, or future dlc...so no clue

I just try and show new view points to people

Oftentimes, it's hard for me to imagine how some people will pronounce the names since I'm so used to the Japanese way of pronouncing things.

Well, they're both Goddesses. o wo

Chou-Chou has a higher level/damage cap, though. Neptune needs Nepgear just to break her normal limit.

Mechanics aside...I think that it'd just be a battle of egos...
