It really reminds me of that recent Mahou Shoujo anime that was out recently. Puella Magica something something or something.

Yes. It's Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Some of the cast members (both in English and Japanese) are in Mk2.

I also surmise that Sarah Williams, who voiced Sayaka in English, also voices Uni in English. That would make her share two roles with Ms. Kitamura if that is indeed true.

Meanwhile...

In the first Neptunia game, I've spotted two references to the very first Dragon Quest / Dragon Warrior game.

1. In one of the skits involving the greedy kid, Nep-Nep reacts "Greedy Boy appears! Command?" That's analogous to the battle prompt in DQ1, "A [monster name] draws near! Command?"
2. In the Normal Ending, after defeating Arfoire's second form, Nep-Nep says, "Drat. When she turned into the dragon, I thought she was gonna offer me half the world or something." That's a reference to the main villain and final boss of DQ1, the Dragonlord, who indeed presented the hero an offer to rule the world with him.
