Ah well.

Well, often I find that 2D is more often done well than 3D, particularly for conversations and stuff, so if anything it's more of an expectation of what it'll be like for me.
Although I don't make judgements on these things until I see them in motion. :D

If it helps, I'm perfectly fine with 3D...heck, I used that over the anime portraits for a while in SO4 even...mainly because the menu was blinding, but still

NISA, you mean? Very hard to say. It depends entirely on whether Tecmo-Koei America wants to use their own resources to bring it over, and then whether the Japan side is willing to continue sublicensing - I would imagine the Gust guys wouldn't mind keeping the current arrangement going, but they don't have the only say anymore.

OTOH, I've heard On The Grapevine that the head dude of NISA is good buds with a lot of K-T guys, so who knows~

So, while that seems like a reasonable explanation, I'm going with they're not rich.

EDIT
Thank you for ignoring the OT discussion that was going on

Actually, didn't FFXIII only run at 1080p for the cutscenes? The gameplay was 720p.

You're right, on PS3 the cutscenes were native 1080p but the gameplay was upscaled from 720p.

On Xbox 360, the game ran at 576p (upscaled to 720p)

But back on topic, I'm looking forward to Ayesha, but I'm trying to hold back on my excitement because I still have to catch up on the Arland trilogy first >.>

NISA has a relationship with TK regarding their european distribution, so it's to be thought that someone at NISA would have a good relationship with TK employees.

Not just Europe, Koei distributes a lot of NISA's games in the US, too.

To my understanding, Atlus distributes the Disgaea games and Koei distributes pretty much everything else?

I am worried that TK will snatch this, but I want to hope that NISA continues doing them.

Same here. I so hope Nisa gets this. When will we find out about if they're doing it or not? A few months? x

Even if they do, it probably won't have an effect on much, maybe just a lack of the JP voices...heck, or a lack of a dub

So I guess in terms of audio, it'd be lose/lose either way

NISA does soooooooo much better with their localizations. TK does Warrior games so if they lack in the dialogue department most don't care, because the story isn't really that important. But, in a game like this, story and character interactions are a HUGE part of it.

So, it'll affect lots more than just the dub.

TK getting this would be a travesty.

*looks at Trinity Souls of Zill O'll*

Okay, I'm with you on that...and I agree that NISA does much better localizations than TK, heck, it's why I'm here, if a game is too cheesy, I tend to get annoyed

Trying to think if TK has touched any other RPG games to compare it to, seeing as Ken's Rage isn't nearly as bad as the Warriors games in terms of directing/cheesyness, but thats an already existing IP that they based it off of...so I dunno :P

NISA and Koei have been working together for years. I wouldn't be surprised if NISA continues to do Gust localizations, but now Koei's logo will be more prominent and they'll get a larger cut of the money.

But that's just speculation (and perhaps wishful thinking) on my part.

Worst case scenario, TK starts localizing the games themselves. Sure, that would kind of suck (especially if TK doesn't step up the quality of their localizations... seriously, even Ninja Gaiden 3's localizaiton was horrible) but that also frees up NISA to work on other games instead.
