I would be so happy to finally see this in North America. Though the characters look like those seen in iDOLM@STER 1/SP, iM@S 2 is an alternate universe (explaining why Takane and Hiki are in 765 Pro) so the stories are new. This means you don't need to play the first to get the second. I would buy this first do, run home and produce my precious Yukiho (plus Chihaya and Makoto).

You are one of the few people I know that would actually produce Makoto *BRO FIST!*

I actually just finished my first serious run last night with Makoto as leader. She's my favorite :3

Same here, it looks good, but not 89 bucks good. I could get like 4 reasonably priced JRPGs that I want for that kind of cash. :?

This is why America should get iDOLM@STER 2 PS3 (Sure, they're not songs from the game, but they're still really good songs that fit the idols' voices perfectly): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WpTS1tF ... ure=g-vrec

For those of you complaining about the price; The reason it's so expensive is because of the amount of work put into the game.
They had to pay each individual idol to sing AND voice act, not to mention the price of producing a song these days (Demos can get really expensive sometimes). Not to mention the price of the engine PLUS the physics engine (If you haven't noticed, the physics are really realistic and have no/close-to-no clipping). Not to mention the amount of work the modeler put into the models, so model quality also puts a dent in their budget. They also have to pay to have their DLC go public (Don't act like it's a one-sided problem, DLC puts a dent in both the buyer and the supplier's wallets, and if you haven't noticed, iM@S has a LOT of DLC). Then you have to pay every single person who contributed to the game. As you have probably already guessed, iDOLM@STER is a REALLY EXPENSIVE SERIES. Its budget probably exceeds that of Naruto (I didn't compare it to an American game because they usually don't have as much work put into them, usually low quality and all-engine and no work).

In my opinion, iDOLM@STER 2 is a great game that deserves your quality buck for their quality product. But you should probably save your money, at the rate this thread is going, iDOLM@STER 2 has a high chance of being localized. Keep up the good work and get more supporters for this game!

I'd say it's definitely worth it. And if you're only paying 80 something for a new japanese PS3 game, then you're getting yourself quite the deal actually. I had to pay about a hundred for my copy.

Actually, it's the same price as any JP game. They're just complaining about the high cost of those in general.

I wasn't trying to complain, just don't see why I can't drop 60 bucks and have it be fair to get the game.

Just keep an eye/ear out for info on a The Best (budget) version or something. I dunno how well its selling, but I think it did pretty well. If that happens, you'll see the price down to about $45-50.

Awesome, because then I would pick it up in a second. I doubt we are going to see this localized, but I really want to play. The guide you guys posted will help a lot once I get it, thanks.
