Oh, I persevered and killed them all. The Helm Splitter skill plus my pawn being awesome as a buffer really helped. I got the Grimoire, finished the quest, and got 5000 xp and 15000 gold. It took a couple tries and some rage, but I did it.

I like how you don't have to kill the bandits inside that fort. I just stole the thing, and left, none of them finding out~

I finally beat Kurt in ToGF, after like 15 tries man, and at least an hour and half of power leveling... YEAH!

Was he so much trouble? The only bosses I've found difficult were the ones you fight with Asbel alone, and fortunately there were like two of them
Then again, I'm playing on "Moderate", maybe that's why
