That's interesting. I'll likely enjoy Agarest 2 more, because of the characters. Then again I don't even plan on buying Mugen Souls. So it's pretty much a win by default.

Yup, it'd have probably been enjoyed equally if dubbed...it being dubbed is a major thing for me since if it's voiced, I like hearing it in English....but Agarest games tend to have decent JP voices I guess

I see. Well I still have to find a game with bad JP voice acting. At least none come to my mind right now.

From what I've heard, anime/game otaku in Japan take their voice acting very seriously. o wo

Hmm, I actually liked SO4 JP dub, then again I've only played the PS3 version for about 3 hours.

From what I've seen and heard I have no worries about Agarest 2 JP dub though.

Agarest and Zero had bad JPN dubs, all the guys sounded exactly alike and used the same monotone delivery and most of the girls had squeaky voices even the supposed older ones.

All of the .hack games had bad JPN dubs, theres more but I'll leave it alone instead of starting a whole other sub vs dub thing.

...I think Japanese females (or at least voice actresses) might have higher-pitched voices than Americans. It could sound perfectly normal to them.

I'm actually hoping that half of those high pitched voices they use for dubbing in Japanese isn't normal...seeing as I don't see how sounding like a 5 year old would help someone get taken seriously  then again, there's that girl in the US from Big Bang Theory who has a very high pitched voice, so it's possible I guess...

I understand why Aksys doesn't dub these games though, but any other RPG and I'd question it...it's probably why they don't bring out many RPGs

And that is Cultural Egocentrism at work!

Don't use your standards to determine how people would be seen in another country

I'd have to say that there's probably some push for younger sounding girls, because youth is such a factor of 'moe'. And attractiveness in general really.

Yeah, now that I re-read my post, it sounds wrong, so I apologize for that, but it probably is them pushing for younger sounding girls for the youth factor of 'moe'

Alright, it's good to realize when you state something like that.

With that out of the way, if I had some sort of income, and wasn't waiting on the knowledge of whether or not I'm gonna move to Tokyo, I'd probably get this. But, it's not a very high priority, so I probably wont' be getting this right now.

Yeah, artemis, you probably worded that off, seeing as it pretty much came off as "JP voices can't be bad"

Heck, both languages have their fair share of good, and bad dubs, I mean, have you seen some of their western dubs? I watched a Japanese episode of The Simpsons and cringed

As someone who doesn't understand a lick of Japanese, just based on emotion/tone alone, the males do sound pretty bland, while the females are hit or miss, maybe Agarest 2 will do better

What no auto battle? So I'm gonna have to actually spend hours mashing attack on my own, blah I say, I loathe the outdated tedious boring battle system all RPGs should have real time battle systems by now FFS!!!. :x
