Yup, though the anime is catching up fast, so at this rate, I'll just be watching the anime episodes and then read the manga

I started reading the manga way before an anime adaptation was announced >_> so I don't really consider that "reading ahead."

I'm not saying anything bad, was just curious.
EDIT
kinda sucks though, since I won't be able to have as good conversations with people until it's caught up...

Hmm, true, true...I've been reading Sket Dance from the beginning (sad that the manga will never come over here it seems), but still, we're technically reading ahead of the anime either way, and we know things that non-manga readers won't know

As a purely philosophical point, I would say "reading ahead" is when you deliberately read the source material beyond the adaptation to stay ahead of the adaptation. Otherwise it's just reading, no?

I read the Lord of the Rings trilogy some years before the movies were announced or released, so I wouldn't call that reading ahead. However, I specifically started reading the Bleach manga because the anime had so much filler, so I would call that reading ahead.

Not trying to pick at words really, that's just how I interpret the phrase "reading ahead" :X

And I just literally mean 'reading ahead of the manga'.

It DOES pose a problem though, because you guys know stuff I don't. And you can't really properly discuss stuff with me, in the way that two or more people would when watching something for the first time together.

it'll just be a 'oh you'll love what's coming up next', or a 'wait and see'. Speculation can't really happen between us, because you already know.

We can still have discussions, but they won't be nearly as fun.

Yeah, sorry, I'll keep my philosophical musings to the random chat thread :)

It's true that knowing more of the source material curbs discussion, but I haven't really found that to be a problem much. Sket Dance is an exception since it's long-running, so knowing how events in the current episode affect the story 20-30 chapters down the line is very likely to happen, whereas with a shorter series like Tasogare Otome x Amnesia I found my foreknowledge of the story pretty useful since I had a number of PM conversations about the anime.

Yeah, I'm REALLY hoping that the scanlators slow down to the point that the anime get ahead of it...since there'd be more fun to be had discussing it

Well, you could always hold yourself back and not read the manga again till the anime's caught up?

But I'm sure that would be not so desirable.

It got out of the arc I wanted to read through, so it's possible actually

The manga is scanlated slowly enough that I'd probably just stop reading it once the anime passes it, then pick it back up if the anime doesn't get renewed.

This...sadly, 1 chapter every 2-3 weeks means that the anime is gonna catch up, fast...so I'll most likely stop reading it then

Episode 66 was great!
Spoiler:
The first half with teh reading minds and everything was hilarious  And Roman saves the day!

Then, with the Tsukkomi bit, Himeko was doing amazing, but I was really worried when that comic duo thing happened and that stupid guy even rehearsed it >_< But, I was all like, 'Bossun could help you!' Then Switch and Momoka exchanged glances and YES! Their act was hilarious

And, ME LIKE the new ENDING!

@episode 65 (since I'm a free member right now)
Spoiler:
Agata's whole over-protective brother routine is much, much funnier in the anime...and I completely forgot that Michiru started the whole confusion...can't wait to see the rest of the stuff in motion/voice :P
