I'd probably choose to be (or rather: plan on being) a techno-expert regardless of whether or not it would have any value in the game ~

If I sign up, I'll be a last minute contender.

Simple reason: The RP aspect bugs me a bit. I rather have a flat out Zombie game.
How long do you expect this to last? And just HOW much do I have to RP?

-It depends on who signs up, and how quickly they post. Unlike Mafia, there isn't any particular "day/night" structure. Also, I'm working one thing in particular.
This is my question for you, and anyone else that wants to answer:
Should I do this like Mafia and receive all actions before posting a response for EVERYONE, then continue to turn 2, 3, 4, etc.?
Or, should I keep individual records of each player (EO-san turn 5, Vampko-san turn 3, etc.)?

-However much you can stand. If you want, you can simply list the things that you want to do with your character. The only thing that's really required is the character sheet because of the different things that it can effect in the game.

EDIT:
Remember:
this is primarily for testing the waters, this game.
I want to get some experimenting done with this, then I can fine-tune it. If it works well, I can have a better system in place for the next one, assuming there will be a second game.

I was going to go with Hacking as one of the skills, but if the 'big tech' is a car....

it's not likely to have a point...

Try to create a character like a person?
I don't know, these are people that didn't know there would be a zombie outbreak~

In any case, "hacking" isn't limited to computers only. Maybe it helps hand-eye coordination? Maybe there's a radio that you would be more familiar with, if you were good with technology? Maybe maybe?
Let's say you made a character who was good at camping, and you started in the mall. Would you consider that a disadvantage?

I'm trying to make this have many possibilities, and situations might give many different responses. This is also a test for me, too~
-if I can properly keep up with all this madness that I hope will happen~

...No desire to join, but I was looking through the thread out of boredom-- the hell does technology have to do with a Zombie Apocalypse? Most the time in those apocalyptic-type settings electricity is pretty much non-existent.

Electricity is usually toted as a precious-- and limited resource. So good luck being "Hackers". xD

JerichoDeath wrote:For this Zombie game, I will be treating Zombies as "humans infected with a virus that causes zombie-like behavior and mostly immune to pain".

Oho~! That sounds interesting, but I won't play, but I will definitely follow it.

Fuck it. I'm in, I'm too genre saavy to NOT be in.

Name: Vincent Cino
Appearance (optional): Tall with a muscular, yet somewhat slender build. Has black hair, and a bit of a rugged look to him.
Back-story (Optional, one sentence only): An ex-cop in his mid to late twenties living alone.
Skills (list 3):
1. Basic Combat Training
2. Lockpicking
3. Basic Firearm Training
General Knowledge (list 2):
1. Horror Movie Buff (And thus, is knowledgable about the zombie race)
2. Basic Survival Knowledge (Gathering food, water, setting up camp.) *If this is considered more of a skill, I'll replace it with something else, such as Leadership, which is basically knowing how to lead, and devise.*
Player Name: Empty Overture

By the way, my original idea was a cute bounty huntress, but considering the amount of estrogen in this post-apocolyptic world... I figured you'd need some manly muscle.

Technology isn't really all that sparse in zombie apocalypse's at all >>

Think of all the times they have to break into a facility or deal with the security of something. Having hacking abilities is usually a great help. But, due to this being set on some tropical island probably in the middle of nowhere, yeaaaaah....

Zombie apocalypses are much better done in civilized areas imo. But, what's done is done.

The only reason this is set in a more limited area is because of the experimental nature of this particular game. If I can get some good lessons out of this as far as what works and what doesn't, then you can expect some more interesting things for the next one... assuming people have a desire for more than one Apocalypse Z.

EDIT:
@EO-san:
"Basic Survival Knowledge" works classified as under "Knowledge". I'm essentially treating it like "Camping" or "Hiking" but with a more narrow, stronger focus on an individual who was looking for rugged wilderness training, rather than the more regular stuff.

I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on this?
I can go either way, and I can see pros and cons with both sides.

Right now, I'm leaning towards receiving actions from everyone, then posting my responses all at once, each turn.

Things would go nuts if you did it individually, so I say go with the all at once option.
