If we support Umineko, then we're decreasing the chances of getting this game. NISA can't localize everything in the world. As much as we would like that, this is a battleground and you have to choose sides. And I'm gonna support the dragon and tiger 8-)

Umm, they can localize more than one thing at once....And perhaps the success of one can make the chances of the other shoot up. Don't let your frustration and problems with the other thread blind you so much that you're seriously suggesting people must "pick sides".

I feel the same way too. I'd like to see this get localized as well simply on the principle that I'm tired of companies "only licensing" RPGs. It's not that I don't enjoy them because I love them but I'd like to them experiment with other genres as well visual novels, dating sims etc. I remember a few years back when I still into Neon Genesis Evangelion I imported what seemed like some sort of visual novel of the series. I started thinking to myself "how come we can't get more games like this!?" Just think maybe if this is successful maybe we'll get more visual novels and anime based games!

I'm not. This is a logical conclusion. You have to support what you want. NISA can localize more than one project sure, but remember, they already have Ar tonelico Qoga on their plate, and who knows what else? Prinny 2? Neptune? There's not as much room to show your support for everything as people might think. I'm just trying to bring a more realist approach to things. You can support both if you want, there's no harm in that at all.

I'm just saying that it really IS a battleground. NISA doesn't have unlimited funds like say SE or NB. They have to choose what they can take on, and not everything's gonna make it. Sometimes stuff that gets left behind might get another chance way later on, but there's no guarantee it will, especially when GUST, NIS, and IF/Compile Heart keep on releasing more games. Since those three are the main companies that NISA takes on.

In summation, if you don't want to take sides you don't have to. But I suggest you choose a side if you seriously want one or the other to come. If it doesn't matter to you either way, then there's no problem in the matter, and feel free to spread out your resources as far as you want.

In other news, is there really a second season?
I read in the artbook thingy that they're doing a second season. could this really be true!?

I made a Top Ten list of what I'd support the most from NISA at the present. Umineko is fourth, and Toradora is seventh. While it may seem like I support Umineko more, I still want both about equally. I don't see what's wrong with it because it's still supporting more visual novels. And, of course, NISA can localize more than one game at a time. I mean sure, they may be doing Prinny 2, Neptune, and ATIII right now with some Disgaea 4, but I dunno if that's all they're going to do for the rest of the year. That seems highly unlikely. They just might be able to fit both Umineko and Toradora in there. Especially the latter since the anime's being done by them as well. It's more possible than you think.

There's nothing wrong with it. As I said, if you don't mind either way (as in you won't be disappointed if you don't get Toradora, when you get Umineko) then feel free to spread your support. It's all about what you want. I want to see this localized far more than many PSP games one here, since the anime was so amazing, and I think it would be a great compliment to the series being localized by NISA. It would also help them to get a stronger foothold in anime fandom. Which it seems they're wanting to dabble in now. Plus, it really fits with the kind of stuff they localize already in terms of content (not gameplay). It's comedic, while being serious when it needs to be. And is quite upbeat.

Please don't think I'm spilling over what happened over there into here. This is my mostly unbiased perspective on things. I try to look at it from all angles. And I try to keep naive ideals like 'NISA can localize everything' from becoming part of my posts. I also want many other V/N's, but right now Toradora seems the most fitting. So, I will put all my support towards this V/N only. I will support other localizations, but in terms of V/N's it will only be Toradora for myself.

Anybody have any info on a second season?

If you're talking about Toradora Volume 2, it's releasing this week, I believe. Just check under "Anime" on the NISA's main site.

I don't really think NISA can localize everything, but I support at least asking them to localize stuff, even if it may not come true. It keeps the disappointment down for me, at least, by supporting a lot of titles. If one doesn't get localized, that's OK because I then have other titles to support and give more time to promoting.

I agree, Toradora seems the most likely, which is why I both promote it, and the underdog, Umineko.

No, in the artbook that comes with the premium edition, in one of the interviews, a voice actress talks about recording for a second season.

Well the series is based off of a light novel series, so it'd be kinda sketchy if they plan on making more anime... Even if it were true; I'd still be cautious.

It'd be nice if Umineko got localized, but I would be much happier with Toradora Portable! Also as time goes by (unless VNs become as popular as fpss in the US) the chances for TP! get slimmer and slimmer because the hype from NISA releasing the anime will dwindle. Whereas with Umineko being localized later the fanbase would be less diminished by then (I'd assume)

I don't think there's a second season since the anime ended with the light novels. There could potentially be a future adaptation for the Toradora Spin-Off novels, but I really doubt that's what they were talking about. Most likely it was because Toradora was a two-season anime, Fall '08 and Winter '09. I'd say they were probably talking about recording the second half.

As for Toradora boards, there really aren't any I know of other than this one. You could find all of the individual Toradora-based clubs on MyAnimeList.net and post there, though. This looks like the biggest one:

http://myanimelist.net/clubs.php?cid=5545

And it seems to be relatively active.

Where could I find that? Because I'm familiar with photoshop, and that's about it.

Best version?

It's when a game get's discounted majorly. Kind of like our 'Greatest Hits' games. It would be for 34.90 plus S&H on PLayasia, and it would be even cheaper if you were in Japan. It's pretty much the best time to buy games that you held off on.

Oh I gotcha! Well maybe you could support more accurately with the actual game? But it's still kind of a high price for a non-english game, so it's your call

What's the sale count for Toradora Portable anyway? Is there a goal to get a Best Version like there is for Greatest Hits?
