I actually already have a
"make your dub cast" thread at the "General Anime Chat" section. So go over there if you want to share your dub cast ideas of
any anime.
But needless to say, since NIS America are bunch of newbies in the anime industry, don't expect them to dub anythings within a year or two. Although being said, they did promise in an ANNCast that they might go back and dub the sub-only releases that sold successfully well.
If you really want a dub for this series, I suggest that 1) buy the Toradora! box sets (and I'm assuming you already bought/ordered both box sets), it shows support to NIS America and gives a clear that you want them to dig deeper into the anime business or give them possibilities for dubbing. 2)
fill out that anime registration feedback form (since you need that UPC code, you need to buy the box set to order to give feedback them anyways), there is a 500 character comment section where you can give thoughts, opinions, and ideas for the series. Meaning you can express your dub cast pick to them. It's usually better than posting in the forums because the staff usually don't have enough time to look through all the posts daily.
But anyways, looking into your choices on your dub cast of the main characters of Toradora!
Ryuuji: Bryce Pappenbrook
That's not going work out well. Looking at some of Bryce Papenbrook's resume (Zidane Tribal, and recently, Masaomi Kida), he mostly casted into the very young boys (some of which are very energetic). I think it would be more reasonable if you give Ryuuji a delinquent-like
voice (since Ryuuji
looks like a delinquent even thought he's a nice guy). While the Japanese VA of Ryuuji didn't make him sound like the delinquent, it would actually be funnier if you give delinquent voice for the dub. I'd go with
Johnny Yong Bosch. He can give kind of a mix between Itsuki and Ichigo (thus, making Ryuuji sound like a smooth-talking delinquent).
Taiga: Cristina Vee
Agree with you right here, I think of Cristina Vee to be the English dub equivalent to Rie Kugimiya. Not to mention that I loved her VA work on Taiga. Heck, she should be typecast in any tsundere or yandere character that I can think of (Nagi from Hayate the Combat Butler! and Misaka from Index/Railgun).
Minorin: Lara Jill Miller
Also not going work well. I kind find Lara Jill Miller's VA to be "too geeky" when I listened to her VA samples (best examples are from Misao from Lucky Star and Kari from Digimon, which is why I think that Aniplex should cast her as Erika from DRRR!!). You probably need someone who can pull off cutesy, cheerful, and energetic voice acting for Minorin (as many people would agree that Minorin is VERY moe). I'd go with
Hynden Walch here. She worked in a few anime dubs (from Yutaka from Lucky Star to Nia from Gurren Lagann) and I feel that she should casted more into anime. I also personally find Walch's VA to be very cute for Minorin and could pull off the energetic vibe of Minorin. Beside, I think Walch's VA is very cutesy and moe as well (even thought up of some good anime roles that fits perfectly for Hynden Walch who I consider to be the cutest and most moe of an anime series). WALCH-CHAN! WHY SO MOE~!
Yusaku: Yuri Lowenthal (corrected the misspelling of his last name)
I thought up of Yuri Lowenthal, but I also thought up of
Dave Wittenberg as well. I'm not sure why I thought up of him. Maybe because of his large vocal range, or maybe because of his work as Kakashi Hatake from Naruto. No exact answer, but either one works. I had hard time thinking it through this one.
Ami: Michelle Ruff
Also agreed on this one, but bear in note that Michelle Ruff does have a large vocal range. Maybe something cutesy like Tsukasa from Lucky Star when showing off her "innocent" persona and maybe give off some "valley girl" accent when showing off her "bitchy" persona.
