Well...logic doesn't apply in Neptunia, now does it? ;)

It's not logic; it's physics.

Physics is both existential and a product of logic. The laws of physics can change in due time should something new arise, though the physics itself will not. Anyway, our physics very well can be different from theirs. You ever hear the expression "that defies the laws of physics"? Our physics, not theirs, as by an event happening it is proven possible. Anyway, this is really off topic (though obviously you may feel free to respond), we need to get back to what we were doing (sorry for the derailment).

Well to be fair, Neptunia doesn't always seem to abide by the laws of physics at all.
It's probably a waste of time to think about it, heh.

As for the gun, I'll see if I can put together a working concept sketch with the integrated power cell chamber sometime tomorrow. As for the weapon's name... leaving 'Atari' in the title would be too blatantly obvious, so perhaps we ought to simply shorten it to be called 'AGX-1'?

Well now that human Rei has a weapon to work with, perhaps we ought to figure out her fighting style and fill out her repertoire of basic rush/power/break combo attacks.

In that respect, like I mentioned in a previous post I think Rei would kind of be a bit clumsy and uncoordinated in her attacks. She doesn't have much self-confidence, so I'd imagine some of her attacks would reflect that. Mayhaps in some cases, seeming like she doesn't quite know what she's doing and is just winging it.

I can see her attacking more at close range, as opposed to shooting from a distance like Uni. That way she include awkward, clumsy smacks or kicks or something in her attacks. Though obviously, the majority of her combos would consist of shooting with her gun.

Are you designing Rei with just her innocent and clumsy side in mind, or are you also planning on her being playable when she is all power-hungry and evil?
If your server asks if Coke is acceptable instead of Pepsi, it's only sensible to ask if Monopoly money would suffice as payment.

Considering that the two aren't mutually exclusive and playable HDD mode, both, with innocent Rei being relegated to Human Rei (with maybe a FEW things leaning psycho Rei) while power-hungry Rei will be represented mostly through her HDD.

Basically what ArmedDragoon said.

Rei would be her clumsy low-confidence self while in human form, and arrogant and psychotic in HDD. Though that's an interesting point; I wonder if her insanity might just peek its head out a little in human form during one or two of her stronger attacks.

I think I like that idea.

Well since no one's suggested anything yet, I suppose I'll get the ball rolling.

Rei's Basic Attacks (human)

Rushes
Spoiler:
  • Shoot! Shoot! Shoot!
Rei holds up her ray gun with both hands, turning her head away and shutting her eyes as she fires off three quick shots.
  • Repeating Fire
Rei adopts a cowardly stance--knees together and feet spread apart as she faces away from the enemy with the classic ( >_< ) face--holding her ray gun out away from her body pointing toward the enemy and firing off five poorly aimed shots.
  • Triple Threat
Rei freaks out, awkwardly kicking the enemy three times, pistol-whipping them twice, and finishing with a point blank blast to the face. "Kyaaa...! Go away, go away, go away~!"
  • Oscillating Shot
Rei awkwardly takes aim in her cowardly stance again, nervously holding her ray gun with both hands to look down the sights, but then suddenly fires off a rapid succession of seven high-energy beam pulses.
Power
Spoiler:
  • Charge Shot
A single, powerful burst of photonic energy from Rei's ray gun.
  • Energy Barrage
Rei grips her ray gun with both hands and lets off three high-energy shots, causing her arms to recoil up from each shot.
  • Particle Beam
Rei plants her feet, overcharging her ray gun and firing off a crackling, high-magnitude energy beam.
Breakers
Spoiler:
  • Bonk!
Rei humorously konks the enemy on the head with the butt of her ray gun.
  • Beatdown
Rei frantically stomps on the enemy three times (as if trying to squish a bug) while huddling into herself and making her ( >_<'') face .
  • Scatter Beam
Rei engages her ray gun's spread laser setting, firing a piercing spread of a dozen or more smaller beams simultaneously. Though the attack itself registers as a single, high guard damage hit.

Power
Spoiler:
  • Please Hit!
Rei fires her gun quickly, jumping in surprise at the suddenness.
  • Blue Gamble
Rei builds up her AGX-1's energy but it overloads, making a much larger blast that makes her fall back. Has knockback effect and debuff's the enemy's MEN.
  • Reserve Power
Taking a more careful and steady stance, Rei fires a high-powered blast at the enemy.
  • Blaze Blaster
Same as Reserve Power but a fire-elemental attack.
  • Freeze Fire
Same as Reserve Power but an ice-elemental attack.
  • Storm Sniper
Same as Reserve Power but a wind-elemental attack.
  • Lightning Laser
Same as Reserve Power but a lightning-elemental attack.
  • Azure Fangs
Her anger showing through a bit, Rei fires two high-powered blasts at the enemy.

Sorry for the lacking creativity.

I'm really liking Please Hit! and Blue Gamble.
The Reserve Power line is interesting, too.

Nice ideas, Pore.

Thanks. Is there anything wrong with Azure Fangs?

Hm? No, there's nothing wrong with it. I just liked Please Hit! and Blue Gamble the most.

Update: Finished my Power/Breaker suggestions.

...huh. I honestly thought more people would be interested in contributing ideas. I guess there aren't as many forumers who like Rei as I thought.
