Demon Gaze 2 on Play Asia

Postby EmperorZetta » Fri Dec 23, 2016 5:59 am

Gematsu posted a link to an Asian-English version of Demon Gaze 2 that's set to release next March. Can NISA comment on this? Are you guys still localizing the game?

I just saw that too....what's up with that?!

I'm REALLY hoping to see a real western release here and have been waiting patiently for news...but yeah, Play-asia happened.

....Not sure what to think here.

I'd like to know as well. Is NISA still going to localize Demon Gaze 2, or it's going to be an Asia-only release like Moero Chronicles?

Man, I really hope not...that'd screw me/us out of the DLC content...and that extra lengthy story/dungeon content that nods back to the first game...an older Pinay man, AN OLDER PINAY!!!! Plus, it's touted to be nearly as long a campaign as the base game, which would be AWESOME! I'm pretty sure it's DLC, so yeah....NISA(or Experience...but somebody do it), gimme!

Seriously though...news would be good, but I'm also weirded out by how Stranger of Sword City Revisited got handled...I'd prefer if we got a legit release, but I'd like to avoid the "one version handled by A ehile the other is handled by B" scenario too.

...Ugh, this weirdness with niche game releases is irritating...like how Moe Crystal's English release just vanished in favor of pure Chinese...ir this Demon Gaze 2 news.

Yeah, the Vita is poorly designed for imports. The only way to play English text imports like these with DLC is to make a Hong Kong PSN account and buy HK PSN cards.

I asked Play-Asia about the English text version since it's supposed to be coming out this month, but the release date is still not confirmed yet:

Okay...Now I'm really, REALLY skeptical here.
This sounds a bit like what happened with Moe Crystal's supposed English sub release that just died off somewhere along the way....

Honestly, I absolutely HATE when a publisher picks up a title but screws us out of the sequels(for whatever reason), so importing an English Asia version is my option of last resort, same with series that I want...but equally hated are weird situations like this where the potential consumer and gaming fan just have no clue what's going on and either get no answers, or vague stock replies like your answer.

To be fair, I have my doubts that NISA is that much in the loop if they decided not to localize DG2, but seeing as the first game was pretty well recieved, I'd be kinda surprised if NISA may not have decided to greenlight 2. That'd be REALLY dissapointing...but the fact is we don't know and nobody's saying anything helpful.

Frustration and expectations build....a truly vicious cycle really.

Welp, seeing as it is already March all we can do is wait and see, unfortunately.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of... No news at all and they changed the release date to TBA :(

Welp...Now things make sense...

WE'RE GETTING DEMON GAZE 2!!!!!!!

...Kinda makes me wonder if some big old licencing fight went on behind the scenes or something though.
Still, I hope we get that DLC too...PLEASE let us get that extra content too!!!!

Very nice! Glad to see that we're getting this game on English, especially considering the massive DLC for this! I'm still planning on getting it for Vita, despite the PS4 announcement...DRPGs and visual novels work better on handhelds for me.

Now, for my last question - there's a touchscreen minigame involving the demon girls. It's not a punishment thing like Criminal Girls, but given the lewd factor, I have to ask if NISA is going to keep this intact. I understand that the first game wasn't censored, but it also didn't have anything like this. Prinny Supervisor, can you let us know? You guys are usually upfront about these things, but I want to be sure.

So NISA is localizing the game? I guess that explains why the release date of the Asian version kept being pushed back over and over.

I'd like to know this as well, and also: will Demon Gaze 2 include dual audio like the first game?

Same.

NISA may have their crap inner poltics over policy...but disclosure goes a long way...plus, the context with this game SHOULD NOT be an issue....especially since the first title had its lovely ecchi moments.
And, yeah...I get that player interaction ratchets up concerns. But by that same token, and I freaking wish that our arbitrary ratings boards understood that keeping that experiences means A LOT more to who buys what than this bullshit behinds the scenes crap we consumers never get a real say in...except as statistics after the fact, or so the cynical me feels.

But I digress...this is what matters...

KEEP THE GAME AS CLOSE TO UNCENSORED AS THE ORIGINAL SOURCE AND GIVES THAT EXTRA STORY CONTENT DLC and we'lk be happy to buy with nothing but love for NISA, probably.

I'm still pissed at the removed audio from CG 2 despite it being handled being so well overall...I'd rather have zero reasons to not buy a good product. Especially since you're going out of your way to give us a PS4 port too.

Well yeah, I get that. NISA is basically middleware here, and NIS is ultimately the ones likely to push what gets okay'd (presumably, based on market data, feedback and etc...). But, in point of fact:

- Demon Gaze 2 did get greenlit, is recieving a PS4 port which Japan may or not have gotten, and explains(circumstantially anyway) the Play Asia mess to some extent.
- As you've said the first game was pretty well received, I myself am a fan, so yes...it'd be weird not to see it localized. Just that gap between versions...is annoyingly long, and frought with "who handled what" issues.

Which only makes me that much more fussy about getting that extra scenario DLC!!!
