Reimu Hakurei
The main character of this title. As the shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine, it is her duty to resolve the incidents. While taking shelter from rain at Kourindo, she witnesses something abnormal happen to Rinnosuke and tries to resolve the incident.
Futo Mononobe
Her life was unexpectedly saved by Reimu, and because of some complications, she is staying at the shrine. She praises Kasen as a first-class sage, and asks to become her pupil. But, Kasen will only offer to train her if she helps Reimu resolve the incident. She is a partner character in this title.
Kasen Ibaraki
A sage who lives on Yokai Mountain and often meddles with Reimu. She gives Reimu support during the incident by taking care of the shrine while she's gone. Her hobby is going to the Human Village to rehabilitate struggling restaurants.
Citizens of...the Yokai Village?
A village was built deep inside the dark forest of Gensokyo... That is the location of a group of yokais who admire the Human Village's way of life. Their village is called the Yokai Village. Their superior technology and skills will help Reimu and the others resolve the incident.
